We have been experiencing very slow media browsing (from backoffice) in Umbraco. The problem has persisted for quite awhile now.

Just to open the media folder, takes > 10 seconds. To actually add an image from the media-picker, that's 2 subfolders from the root, could easily take 30 seconds.

I've tried this solution (Index script from Mikkel): http://our.umbraco.org/forum/developers/extending-umbraco/42361-This-is-a-bit-dirtybut-I-need-to-mess-with-the-database, but there was no notable difference in speed in media.

It should be noted, that our media folder is quite large (about 250-300mb).

Anybody experienced this, or know what's up?
