    No umbraco document matches the url '/'.

    This error is so confusing

    I've the following domains added to Culture and Hostnames in my website root node:

    1. http://www.mydomain01.com
    2. http://mydomain01.com
    3. http://www.mydomain02.com
    4. http://mydomain02.com

    Domains from 2 to 4 are working just fine but whenever I browse to domain #1

    I get this strange error message

    Page not found

    No umbraco document matches the url '/'.

    This page can be replaced with a custom 404. Check the documentation for "custom 404".

    This page is intentionally left ugly ;-)

    Please help

    Have you retried refreshing the cache ? That sometimes is needed when changing the hostnames and cultures.

    Go to your root node (namend Content), right click and then choose republish entire site.

    Check the [umbracoDomains] table in the database to ensure the hostname is definitely there, no typo and with the correct [domainRootStructureID]. Bump your web.config file then try again.

    The only time I have seen problems like this in the past is in earlier versions where any changes to hostnames required an application restart to take effect, there was a small typo in the hostname meaning it doesn't resolve to any node or it resolves to a node without a template assigned.

    it works now .. all i did was trigging web server restart by changing the web.config as Simon suggest..

    that was really great

    If you had updated the hostname though the UI I didn't think an application restart was necessary any more but it seems that may not be the case.
