When creating a copy of a document the "created by" field changes from the original author to the default admin author. Is this a known issue and is there a solution?
I do recall somebody mentioning something similar.
What it should do when you copy a content node is set the Created By field to whoever performed the copy operation.
I'm assuming in your case that you are not logged in as the "default admin author" when performing the copy? If so, that is a bug (one that sounds familiar and which may have been fixed).

Which version of Umbraco are you using?
We are using 7.2.8 and will be upgrading shortly when some other packages are compatible with 7.3
This is an issue in the latest 7.4.2 - I have created an issue on the issue tracker (couldn't find a previous one).
