Can I make it so that a User Type only is allowed to browse certain nodes? I have something called WriterUser who should only be allowed to edit in specific folders that are already set up (and in those folders they should be allowed to Create/Publish nodes).
Can I, in some way, limit the permissions for a user at creation (or User Type change), just because he/she is created as a certain user type?
Not based on the User Type, but on the specific user you can limit access. See my image where I have a user called "translate" that I can limit access to certain nodes.
