Hmm, do you see any message when building the project after the upgrade saying that you need to fix some assembly binding? If so then you should be able to click something in the dialogue and have visual studio fix it automatically if I remember correctly.

I am experiencing an error when I upgraded to the latest version on Umbraco.

I think that what you experience is the runtime/assemblyBinding that needs a bindingRedirect in the web.config.
