Ideally I am looking for something similar to Doc Type Grid Editor or Le Blender where by I can select from a list of document types (and customise them) for a selected node. However, I don't want to use this with the Grid Layout - I want to just render out the contents.
Something similar to the Macro Picker, but it allows me to select Document types instead of macros?
What is your scenario? I'm wondering if nested content might be an option in your case? Make sure to read the documentation found a bit down the page under the "documentation" tab.
