Hi everyone - first post here with a nice newbie question :)

    Hi everyone

I'm total newbie trying to learn the basics of Umbraco and have hit my first issue.

I've installed Umbraco using webmatrix ( fresh installation ) and got myself to the backend page, after leaving it for a bit It timed out and now this screen appeared - It's not accepting my password which was just good old 12345678 for testing purposes and there is no password reset button.. ? enter image description here

what can i do now ? after searching for a solution i found myself trying to replace the "umbracoUser" table but it wont let me commit changes.

If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance

    Zenako

    Hi Zenako,

there is a little "package" which lets you recreate the password in such cases.

But sadly I don't know the Name right now.

    Regards David

    Hi Zenako

Have you tried signing in with the email address you used to create the user and not the username. Email tends to be the default Username when I start a new Umbraco site and not the Username I set. not sure why.

    Hope it helps

    Dee

Thanks I was pretty sure I tried it but you were right it accepted my email instead.

Just for reference purposes if someone does lose there password is there a simple way to reset it ?

    Regards,

    Zenako
