    Umbraco 8 RTE not showing toolbar

    the TinyMCE RTE out of the box of umbraco 8.0.2 is not showing any buttons or toolbar, it exactly looks like a normal textarea field... same issue from chrome and firefox.

    I checked the datatype in the backoffice and there are many toolbar functions are ticked/enabled .. but when editing content, it is just a plain wide textarea, no buttons, no toolbar.. how to fix that?

    check config/tinyMceConfig.config file exist. if so its contain commands and plugin xml.

    then check whether umbraco/lib/tinymce/plugins folder contain tools that should be displayed on tinymce toolbar present.
