    How can I change doctype on a page in Umbraco 8?

    Hi Christina,

    You can't I'm afraid. This functionality is currently not available in Umbraco v8 due to the complexities of Multi-lingual relationships.

    There is a workaround, especially if you're trying to change a document type for reasons of structure (different templates or permissions) and not changing the core properties of the document.

    You can edit the database directly to change the document type and it still works. I blogged about it here: https://this.isfluent.com/blog/2021/changing-document-types-in-umbraco-8
