I have created a new content with a text editor in the settings / Document types / home / add property section. Place the word "hello world" in the editor but do not use it in the browser when saving and publishing. What am I doing wrong?

It looks like you've defined content (as outlined here) but may not have included the relevant code to render it within the Template.
As such, you should have a look at the Rendering Content page for V8.
