    Upgrade Umbraco version 7.10.0 to 8

    Hello,

    I would like to upgrade umbraco 7.10.0 to umbraco 8.

    Is it recommended to do so ? And what might be the implications.

    Hi,

    Umbraco8 is nice and it has good new features.. but with my experience there are some issues in the cache (especially when you have two language ! ), and in the nested content (after filling the content, it disappears and you have to fill it again)

    but anyway there're always workarounds to handle those issues

    Hi K,

    It does depend to be honest. If you are using alot of plugins then I'd hold off on migrating. But if it is a plain near vanilla Umbraco site then you'll probably be okay migrating to v8.

    I would upgrade to the latest v7 first (I think you have to to be fair) before working through the migration process. Also be aware that moving to v8 from v7 isn't just a case of upgrading the site, there are specific guides to performing the migration, I believe, that you need to follow.
