I upgraded from umbraco 7 to 8 and used the content migration tool, everything seems to have worked fine website loads, content got moved across. however everytime I try to save any content in the backend I'm getting the following error;
Received an error from the server An error occured Object reference
not set to an instance of an object.
Exception Details System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not
set to an instance of an object.
Please can you review Home node in the back-office. I have seen this issue when one of the property is trying to fetch details that does not exist and throws an error.
Most likely your error will be in MNTP, Content Picker or Media Picker.
Are you using any Nested content on the home page too?
You can try one more thing by creating a new page using Home doctype and try saving it. If it is not showing any error then it must be related to data.
The issue was I had Meganav installed on Umbraco7, but when upgrading to Umbraco8 I had to uninstall it due to not being compatible. I just needed to remove the property in the doc type as well :)
