    A server error occurred.

    1. Downloaded the source code Umbraco-CMS-7.2.0 and Unblock the zip file and unzipped it
    2. Build the source code and it succeeded
    3. Run the source code. Got the below error

    "A server error occurred
This is most likely due to an error during application startup" (Find the below screenshot for reference)

Can anyone please provide a solution for this as it's blocking us to continue further??

You probably didn't build the javascript bit, use build.bat in the build folder to make sure everything gets built properly. There you will also see additional errors if anything is missing.

Please note: you do not need to build Umbraco yourself unless you plan on contributing to the core of Umbraco. We provide many APIs to do everything you ever want to do to build your websites. Customizing the core of Umbraco will immediately block you from doing any future upgrades (you'd need to pull in our changes and build Umbraco again).
