It is possible to convert form a hosted solution to Umbraco as a Service. You do however need to check that each module you might be using is compatible with UaaS.
Most of the popular modules are, but there are still some that lacks support. Besides that. I would redirect you to this doc, which outlines the process of moving a site. I have a v7 installation of Umbraco, and considering converting it to the new 'as a Service' - but how?
