Contour license resetting - forms not working

    hi all,

we have a strange issue. periodically, our forms just stop working.

copying the license file back to the bin folder seems to fix it but why could this be happenning?

it happens about every 2 days now all at different times and I can't see any errors or anything in the logs at all.

    any ideas would be appreciated.

    Hi,

Could you send a mail trough our contact form with details on the error?

Also is there something special about your setup on server side? Load balancing, .. ?

    Regards,
    Tim

    Hi Tim,

that's the thing, I can't find any errors in the logs. It just stops. I have now realised that it's not probably related to the license file at all but as I was copying it back into the BIN folder the app pool refreshes kickstarting the system back up. Everything else works as it should however, just have an issue with Contour.

I have checked event logs and w3c - is there anywhere else I could or should be looking?

    Greetings all,

Sorry to resurrect an old post, but we have very similar situation happening - a virtualised environment with load balancing, where our Contour registration keeps reverting to trial version. Was a solution found for this issue? Any guidance we can give to the infrastructure team would be great.

    Hi Daniel,

Could you try updating the licensing dll with this version: http://nightly.umbraco.org/umbraco.licensing/

Just overwrite your existing one in the bin directory

I had a problem on an Amazon instance using the xxxxxxx.eu-west-1.compute.amazonaws.com style url. Didn't look into what the actual problem was but it was fixed by replacing the licensing dll with the one from the nightly build from above (Tim's post).
