If I am patching our version of umbraco to the latest, what files/folders do I need to make sure I keep in the umbraco and umbraco_client directories so that Contour continues to work?

Well the
/umbraco/plugins/contour directory
also it adds some usercontrols to
/usercontrols/contour
and it has added some entries to the
/umbraco/config/create/ui.xml file
