We're looking to buy Contour licences for use on our Umbraco Intranet sites. Our site are all sub-domains: ldlhome.liverpool.local, connect2ict.liverpool.local etc.
Am I correct in thinking that we will only need one licence for Contour?
A single license covers a single installation of Contour in production environments, as well as two additional development environments. The license allows for an unlimited number of forms.
It is valid for 1 production domain, and 2 development domains. Each domain includes all sub-domains (*.domain.tld), as well as .local extension (domain.tld.local). The license also will include localhost as a valid domain.
I'd previously read that page, but I am still confused on how many licences we will need to purchase. Each of our *.liverpool.local intranet sites is a seperate install of Umbraco all running on one server. Will one licence covering the domain "liverpool.local" be enough for all these sites, or will we need a seperate licence for each sub-domain/site?
As I understand it when your installations are running on seperates Umbraco installations, you will need to buy a license for each Umbraco installation. But domains can be added for EUR59. Please note that this is an add-on domain for existing licenses.
Don't know what the price for a server license is and even if you only want to use Contour, as you can see the the thread is 3 years old, maybe you could try to write to Umbraco and describe your setup:http://umbraco.com/contact/send-us-an-email.aspx
I must to say, I think there maybe can go some time before you get answer, becurse I think the Umbraco team are busy planning the last details to this year Umbraco conference in Copenhagen 11-13 june. The conference is called Codegarden and if you want to know more about this year event, you can find more here: http://codegarden14.com/
A shot could be asking on Twitter if someome are running on a server license, and how to get one, or knowing the price. You could try use the #Umbraco hashtag the HQ and other Umbraco wizards use to begood atanswering.
