Prevalues - Using the default web.config connection string

The Prevalue Source dialog for SQL Database and SQL Database Read only, has a dropdown to allow selection of a web.config connection string, however this is not included in the documentation for this section and does not appear to work without a connection string entered literally into the Connection String box.

Obviously it would be better to keep these details outside the CMS and just select a box from the dropdown however this results in the following message:

Prevalue source not saved: Settings are incorrect

Is this the expected behaviour and I'm missing something obvious or is this a bug?

    • Prevalue Name is set
    • Prevalue Type is set to SQL Database (Read only)
    • Connection String from web.config is set to umbracoDbDSN
    • Table Name is set
    • Key Column is set
    • Value Column is set

    Regards, Chris
