Trouble installing courier - "Runway could not be installed" error
I'm using Umbraco 4.7.2. I'm totally new to Umbraco.
I want to install the Courier package (http://umbraco.com/products/more-add-ons/courier-2.aspx) to make it easy (or at least less painful) to migrate our Umbraco changes (pages, templates, document types) from dev to uat. Currently we do this manually, which takes half a day and is extremely error prone.
I've tried to install Courier from the package repository (Developer | Packages | Umbraco package repository). When I search for "Courier", it does find it. But when I then try to install it, I get the error message: No connection to repository. Runway could not be installed as there was no connection to: 'http://packages.umbraco.org'
I've done some Googling on this, but so far got nowhere.
We had similar issues with Courier - turned out to be a mixture of permissions required on our Umbraco installation and also the proxy on our network interferring with the connection to the repository.

Hi Matt
Alternative way, go here: http://our.umbraco.org/projects/umbraco-pro/umbraco-courier-2 and download, then choose "install local package" in the developer section under packages on your site, and uploda the downloaded file there

We've added our notes on configuring proxy settings in the wiki here: http://our.umbraco.org/wiki/install-and-setup/how-to-install-umbraco-on-windows-server-2008/additional-steps-for-proxy-email-setup
is working on a reply...
