I have a 4.7 site running Courier 2.5 and when I transfer changes from dev to live it slows the live site down anywhere between 30 seconds to more than a minute sometimes. I'm wondering if courier is republishing the entire site or soemthing? What could be causing a slowdown on the front end of the site? Is the app pool being reset or anything? What is happening in the background that could cause performance issues from the frontend perspective. I realize that it locks down the DB on a transfer, I get that, but what else is it doing that might be causing this issue, and what is my course of action to eliminate or work around this issue?
