Courier 2.7.4 build 80...a few steps forward many steps back!

    Hi Per

I've just loaded up build 80 of courier and i'm experiencing the following problems...

Media AND Content transfers are now incredibly flaky, sometimes the tree structures are intact, other times, items get shoved in the root.

RED exceptions randomly appearing again in the transfer window, this one is urecoverable, others go aways if you transfer a second time....

error:Umbraco.Courier.Core.Exceptions.PackageException: Unable to load item with id '64875308-0792-4562-8f3d-88037aa7d4d4' from provider 'Media Property Data' ---> Umbraco.Courier.Core.Exceptions.RetrieveException: Error retrieving item [64875308-0792-4562-8f3d-88037aa7d4d4] from provider [e047259a-e73b-11df-9492-0800200c9a66]. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Umbraco.Courier.Persistence.V4.NHibernate.Persisters.ContentPropertyDataItem.RetrieveItem[T](ItemIdentifier itemId) in c:\Program Files (x86)\teamcity\buildAgent\work\650bafc4b83aa858\Core\Umbraco.Courier.Persistence.NHibernate\Persisters\ContentPropertyData.cs:line 169 at Umbraco.Courier.Core.ItemCrudProvider.RetrieveItem[T](ItemIdentifier itemId) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at Umbraco.Courier.Core.ItemCrudProvider.RetrieveItem[T](ItemIdentifier itemId) at Umbraco.Courier.ItemProviders.ItemProviders.MediaPropertyItemProvider.HandlePack(ItemIdentifier id) at Umbraco.Courier.Core.ItemProvider.Package(ItemIdentifier id) at Umbraco.Courier.RepositoryProviders.Local.Package(ItemIdentifier itemId) at Umbraco.Courier.Core.Packaging.RevisionPackaging.PackageItem(ItemIdentifier itemId, ItemProvider provider, QueuedItemIdentifier itemInQueue) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at Umbraco.Courier.Core.Packaging.RevisionPackaging.PackageItem(ItemIdentifier itemId, ItemProvider provider, QueuedItemIdentifier itemInQueue) at Umbraco.Courier.Core.Packaging.RevisionPackaging.PackageBatch() at Umbraco.Courier.Core.Packaging.RevisionPackaging.PackageBatch() at Umbraco.Courier.Core.Packaging.RevisionPackaging.PackageBatch() at Umbraco.Courier.Core.Packaging.RevisionPackaging.Package() at Umbraco.Courier.Core.Tasks.PackagingTask.Run() at Umbraco.Courier.Core.TaskManager.manageTask(IRevisionTask value) 06/03/2013 12:21:09

I am so, so disappointed this build has reverted back to many of the earlier reported issues. I just dont know what to say, i'm pretty gobsmacked at this point.

After discussing issues with you over the tight coupling of courier and umbraco i'm wondering if it's anything to do with the umbraco build i'm using (currently 4.11.5)?

I need to know when the heck this product is going to be stable and trustworthy! We rely on it as a transfer mechamism for our staging environments as you know. With our earlier builds I recompiled umbraco source so that I can keep Courier 1.3 in use and i'm wondering if I can manage it for our latest build too. But this is far from ideal on a product that has moved on so much.

    Please let me know ASAP.

    Martin
