    Install - could not connect to database

    Using Umbraco And Getting Started
    Umbraco 8

    First time install of Umbraco for me and the installer gives "could not connect to database" message after validation attempt. I'm trying to connect to a local network database server using integrated authentication. Where can I find some more detailed documentation on the custom install process?

    If you are getting "could not connect to database" genreally the problem is exactly that.

    To make sure that you can connect to the sql database from the same machine you are trying to do the install from.

    Download SQL Server Management Studio (or a simmilar tool)

    Use it to see if you can connect to the database with the same credentials.
