    Need help in understanding the 'Migrating content to Umbraco 8' guide.

    Using Umbraco And Getting Started
    Umbraco 8

    Dear friends,

    I do not understand the following part: "Instead, you will need to migrate your content from your Umbraco 7 site into your Umbraco 8 site and then recreate the rest in the new version."

    Does this mean I have to throw away my current VS Solution/Project and create an entriely new one? Or does it mean I have to recreate all DocumentTypes, Media and other Assets and can keep the project? If so, that would take a while. Is it possible to automate it?

    No, idea is migrate database on new Umbraco installation, it mean create new Umbraco 8 installation, connect existing (version 7 db), execute migration to 8. After you can use previous solution (of course you should update all packages and migrate to new API)
