We are trying to have a free version of Umbraco CMS V8 or V7 deployed into a shared VM on Azure cloud.
Ofcourse this is being done to save some cost and also to manage the CMS with our cloud environment.
Now the question we have is, can we integrate this with the APIs being written in .NET Core.
Asking this question to understand if there is any restriction on using APIs in free version so that Umbraco gets the push towards Heartcore product.
The free version you mention is actually an Open Source version, and its exactly the same version as in Umbraco cloud, no restrictions!
The Umbraco Cloud version has a few extra plugins installed out of the box but thats the only difference.
There are no limitations on the API or otherwise.
If you are deploying to Azure Cloud I would recommend to deploy to a 'App Service' its the easiest way to get going, and then you are able to use web deploy directly from Visual Studio or from you CI/CD environment.
