It's probably me but having setup server 2012 R2 and IIS .NET 4.7.2 under hyper-v (the same platform as my hosting provides), I copied the latest version 8.5.3 , extracted the ZIP, created a new web site in IIS ...etc
Browse to the website and up comes an image of a pair of hands and nothing else??? What is supposed to happen next?
Yes the permissions were all OK. IUSR IIS_IUSRS are (RO) and the application pool runs under the NETWORK SERVICE and that has MODIFY control to the root web.
I think it may be some weird browser cache issue, because by chance I tried it under Internet Explorer on the server and I got the Dialog Box. Tried under Edge on the client and that worked as well.
Install on server based IIS - nothing happens

Do the following entities have modify permissions to the web root?
