I have been tasked with setting up a searchable, hierarchical taxonomy for our Umbraco v8 site. I noticed that uTaxonomy is not updated for v8. Am I correct in my assessment that there are no current packages (or in-built functionality) for v8 that will provide a structure for a hierarchical taxonomy?
I never did get a response or find anything suitable in a plugin. We use uSkinned and I wound up creating a uSkinned component that had the data fields I needed and built a hierarchical structure in the Configuration node. I then put a content picker and a multipicker for the Taxonomy components so we can add the topics to other components like articles.
I don't know if this is helpful. It is all pretty basic.

Hi Angus,
I have the same requirement and question you had in April 2020.
Can I ask if you found a plugin to set up your taxonomy and what solution you came up with?
I'm considering my options at the moment. Thanks.

Thanks Angus,
That's really useful to know. I'll probably end up doing something similar.
Thank you for replying.
Ian.
