We've just upgraded to 7.15 from 7.4. Our site seems to be humming along, but Google Analytics is showing a massive spike in the page "/error/500/?aspxerrorpath=/umbraco/rendermvc".
I can't seem to find an error in our logs that points to this page. Is there a way to determine what is causing this error?
Are you able to access the IIS server logs for your site and cross reference the requests there with the times of the error messages in the Trace logs?
You may be able to see the actual requesting Urls that are triggering the errors, and the IP address that made the request and browser User Agent string... this might provide some clues, eg a malicious request with a rogue querystring ?hack=
or some search engine bot... etc etc, or just a Url on the site that is triggering a 500 error at the moment. Anyway it might give you a clue as to where to start investigating the underlying problem.
