Hi All,

We have a site that was migrated from version 7 to version 8 a couple of months ago; some macros have suddenly started throwing the following exception (in the back office, when loading the page with the macros on):

An error occured Cannot render a macro, no content found by id [x]

Exception Details System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot render a macro, no content found by id [x]

Where px] is the ID of the page on which the macro is being rendered.

There is also a long stack trace with this (see end of post).

I can work around this for now by turning off the "render in RTE and the Grid" for this macro, but I suspect it may be a bug in Umbraco - it only happens on new pages, and disappears when the content is published (i.e. the macro will then render again) - this makes me think that perhaps the cache hasn't been updated when the content is saved but not published?

Anyway, has anybody else experienced this? And if so have you managed to find a workaround that doesn't involve turning off the "render in grid and RTE option"?

(I will see if I can recreate it in a clean Umbraco 8 install and raise it with Umbraco)
