Go into web.config and set the umbraco version to empty (so: )
Change the connection string and make it empty too (so: )
You will then asked to install Umbraco again, enter your user details
Click on the customize button to provide the SQL connection details
Umbraco will detect then that you already have a database and will try to upgrade it
You MIGHT get an error the upgrade, I clicked "Back" and tried again and then it worked
Upgrade path from 7.6.6 to 7.15.5
I'm trying to upgrade from 7.6.6 directly to 7.15.5
Is this possible?
I've attempted to do this and getting the following error:
2020-07-27 11:17:00,855 [P16680/D2/T8] ERROR Umbraco.Core.Persistence.UmbracoDatabase - Exception (33c9f9f5). System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Invalid object name 'umbracoUser2UserGroup'.
I've set the useLegacyEncoding to true but it won't accept my admin account to authorise the upgrade.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Rich
Hi,
Have you read https://our.umbraco.com/documentation/Getting-Started/Setup/Upgrading/version-specific
I would probably step to 7.7.13 as there is a user group change in 7.7 - then you should be able to go straight to 7.15.5
