I am new to umbraco and just figuring out the best way to setup my new service. My service is for classic car and motorbike owners and should consist of:
- a web portal using umbraco for normal content and for displaying non cms data
-a web service for coping with non cms data and different other issues like licensing etc.
- different winforms applications that must access the web service.
All parts should work together as well as possible.
I am struggling a bit with the decision to use a standard web api or to use the umbraco web api service. The umbraco web api is very straight forward and has the great advantage to be linked to the rest of the umbraco system such as to the member login etc. So I think that would be the better choice.
Is there a possibility to add a connected service to a winforms project pointing to the umbraco web api? Or what is the best practice in this case? Can anybody help me?
How to consume the Umbraco web api inside a winforms application
