One of our websites went down recently. The website is hosted on Azure and it got two slots. We made some changes on one of the slot and couriered to production on last week, website was working fine after courier. However we noticed the website and two slots were down on Monday morning (not sure when it started), we re-published the page we changed last week and websites were back. As we could login to cms, so server was running, just frontend was down.

Hi Alan, I got the exactly same error message. The site was done, it went back after I restarted the app service in Azure.

It seems to be a problem with the index files, as they are rebuild when you publish something.
The error is related to the internal index not being ready - som required files missing.
There are a lot of information on how to control this, but I would suggest starting with the documentation https://our.umbraco.com/Documentation/Getting-Started/Setup/Server-Setup/azure-web-apps

Hi, following this doc https://our.umbraco.com/Documentation/Getting-Started/Setup/Server-Setup/azure-web-apps-v7, I noticed I didn't have the setting WEBSITEDISABLEOVERLAPPED_RECYCLING with value as 1. I have added it and the issue never happened again.
