SQL CE. Boot failed: A connection string is configured but Umbraco could not connect to the database.

    Hi

I'm trying to launch a new Umbraco site I've been working on. But after uploading to the webhotel, I'm getting an error that boot failed: A connection string is configured but Umbraco could not connect to the database.

I'm using SQL CE4.0 on Simply.com, so permissions are fine. I also tried reuploading first the db file, and afterwards the whole site.

But it still ain't working online, but fine locally.ยจ Any ideas what I'm missing?

    Best Henrik

It is maybe either SQL CE not supported on the server or a permission problem on the data folder

Yea my first thought was also that the server doesnt support it.

So wrote the hosting company, but havent heard back from them yet.

Regarding the permissions, I checked all folders and gave full permissions to everything

If it is not installed on the server, you could try uploading the sqlce related dlls and subfolders to the sites bin folder

Okay. I'm still awaiting an answer from the hosting company, but if it's not supported, which files should I upload, and where should I get them from?

They will be in the bin folder of your local copy.

    Copy the subfolders callled amd64 & x86

and then frim the bin folder any files called System.Data.SqlServerCe.*
