I just took over support of an Umbraco site v7.3.1. I am not very familiar with Umbraco and the reCaptcha is not working. Spam is making it through and it fails a few times for no reason before it finally succeeds. I am not finding a good solution without updating to v8. What are my options? Is there anything I can implement to resolve this without doing a major update? I would like the quickest solution at this point because the client may be migrating to WP.

    Hi Zach

How did you build the form? How did you add reCaptcha?

    THanks, Alex

The Recaptcha issue is very annoying. Because this is the way through which you can approve your identity. I have attended a lot of Recaptcha-making tests at but the logic behind this is very strange.

Have you tried to remove required tag from Recaptcha, we have similar problem with Umbraco 4.11.10 and Contour version 3.0.17. Once we unchecked the required Recaptcha property, we were able to submit the form. I recommend that you search YouTube for videos in which experienced web masters show step by step the process of setting up a recaptcha with Umbraco of any version. I found a dozen of these videos there and noticed that most of them had more than 54 thousand views! I am sure this is because the authors of such video often use the services of in order to wind up their ammount.
