    Give media folders aliases to allow promotion through environments

    We are not currently using any plugins such as uSync (due to legacy issues) but we have had a requirement from a client that when they copy media folders from environments (the traditional DEV-BAT-PROD route) they do not need to re-establish the media links

    I have found out that people directly add media items on each environment as well as copying which means the media folder numbers/id are not in sync across the environments

    Is it possible to give media folders aliases so that the name/link remains the same across environments?

    Hi Mike,

    Similar problem I had previously, sadly, afaik simple answer is no.

    But I can suggest following for this;

    • Focus on using media pickers instead of filepath directly
    • Try to transfer db value either manually (which is less likely) or programatically - which results in using uSync or Courier/Deploy.
