System.OutOfMemoryException: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.

I am panicking...
BTW, a search for 'BackgroundTaskRunner' in my code finds nothing, if that helps.
How many content nodes and media nodes exist in your site?
The Background Task Runner is part of Umbraco and features such as scheduled health checks and scheduled publishing utilise it.
Also, have a look in your website's dB at the server table and the ones relating to cache instructions (sorry on my phone and can't remember their exact names). See how big they are.

Nik
I have 5,800 folders under my media folder, under the physical directory in IIS.
How can I find or calculate the number of content nodes? I would estimate my content nodes at around 1,500 very approximately.
Edit
However, I did take a look under:
Examine Management >> InternalIndex >> 'FieldCount' and the total count was 390,000
Not sure if that's even relevant though...
I would gladly check in the DB, I did look there but not sure what tables you mean.
BTW, it's a relatively new Umbraco installation, about 1.5 years only.
Many thanks :)
is working on a reply...
