Is it possible to migrate an existing (relatively simple) Umbraco site made in Visual Studio to VS Code? Is it complicated and not recommendable? Pros, cons, pitfalls?

You dont need to change anything in your project, but you may need to install a bunch of extensions for vscode to work with msbuild etc.
Vscode will help you with what extensions needed, based on the files you Open.
