Is the 'schedule publishing' option only applicable to one page at a time? ie to schedule the publication of multiple pages, this has to be done for each page separately?
There is an option to 'publish with descendants', but it does not look as though it is possible to schedule the publication of the parent page, and all of its descendants?

I have not tested this, but: a page is only published, when all its ancestors are published. If you schedule the publication of a parent page, all the descendant pages should only be available once the parent is published.
I've tested this and yes, child pages only publish if the parent is also published.
I had hoped that I could schedule publishing a section of pages (parents and children) by publishing the parent with its descendants .... but obviously not.
