.NET 5 is on the not on the Long Term Support; I've not seen a post indicating what the plan/timing is related to switching to .NET 6.
Will that change require an upgrade to Umbraco 10, or will there be an upgrade for Umbraco 9 to the new framework?
Umbraco v10 will be .Net 6 as the LTS plan for Umbraco is to bring it inline with .Net LTS releases.
There won't be a v9 on .Net 6, however there are people who have chosen to run their v9 sites on .Net 6 and, as far as I know, haven't had issues.
