I am trying to follow the step-by-step instructions found here (link below) to migrate the 7.15.7 version (which I have just upgraded to, on my local box from the cloned version of the Live 7.10.6 version) to version 8.5.
In Step 1 in the above link, it says 'Clone down the Development environment from the Umbraco 8 Cloud project'.
I don't have an Umbraco 8 Cloud project and when I try to create one in our 'Development Cloud' environment, it is asking for Payment.
So, my question is can we migrate our current Live website to Version 8.5 locally, more as a 'Proof Of Concept' based on some trail period or should we have to pay in order to create this empty 8.5 project so that we can clone it down as per the link above?
All we are trying to do for now is to migrate to 8.5 version more as a Proof Of Concept rather than deploy the changes yet, as we have lots of stuff to test.
So, is that link the only way to go? Are there any other alternates to migrating to 8.5 version just locally on my laptop? Any other link would be extremely helpful.
Migrating from 7.15.7 to 8.5
