Unless I am misunderstood something I think I have a problem here. Currently I have a Umbraco cloud running version 8 in 3 environments and I can't really create a new project since it belongs to a customer.
Can't I just push to the existing v8 environment a v10 project? It really needs to be a clean cloud project?
I have no Umbraco Cloud experience so take my advice with a grain of salt.
But with regular Umbraco you cannot do a direct v8 to 10 upgrade, as things have changed under the hood.
I used Paul Seals excellent uSync package to export my old content from v8 and reimported it into v9, from there I upgraded to v10. Most of the import went very well, but you'll need to manually update e.g. your Razor-files because of namespace changes, etc.
