Depending on how the search is implemented, this is just a choice made by the developer(s) of the site.
There's a convention that if you add a property called umbracoNaviHide, this can be used to hide a page (or a piece of content) from various lists (blogpost index, navigation, RSS feed etc.)
This is behavior can probably be changed by finding the template/partial or macro that finds the search results and then customize its handling of this property. E.g. it's possible to add another property to pages that specifically hides them from search engines and -results.
umbraco page, with "hide from navigation" checked, will not show in Site search
In Umbraco 6
I found out that if I checked the checkbox "Hide from navigation" on a page in Umbraco
then this page will not show up in the site search result -- ( I meant site search result , not google search result)
Is this correct behavior of umbraco?
Thanks
