Deploying Umbraco from VS2022 wipes out some content

VS2022, latest Umbraco as of today, default 'starter kit', Azure App service.

I make some changes to my local appsettings.json to add SMTP info. Then, I publish via Web Deploy and it seems to overwrite my blogs back to an earlier version... maybe it's me?

Is this normal?
