Using Umbraco 10, recently noticed that the Link field in the Multi URL Picker overlay doesn’t have any validation. This means that a Content Editor could enter any value which could be an absolute or relative URL, email or tel link, or invalid.
Has anyone else come across this? If so, any suggestions on how to handle this situation.
I personally think this is one of those things that you just have to hand the responsibility to the editors. If you can manage with internal links, the Content picker would probably be the best choice of editor. Otherwise, I prefer no validation on the multi URL picker. What is invalid on one site, might be valid on another. I mean you can do all kinds of wacky things with custom routing.
I agree that you need to make editing as simple as possible and as fool proof as possible, but editors still have some resposibility.
