Add redirect for unpublished node in Skybryd.redirect-modulet

I have a client that runs the Skybrud Umbraco Redirects module in their current Umbraco 8.6.4 solution. They use the package to create redirects for pages not yet published. The redirect-url then just show as #, which is expected.
We have then created a onpublishedevent, that changes the URL in the redirect database, to make sure the URL is correct and working.
In their new solution (Umbraco 10.3.2 with Skybrud V4.0.7) they can't create a redirect, when a node isn't published. In the log it says "You need to set a destination for your redirect (or the correct test is in danish "Du skal angive en destination for dit reditect").
Can anybody tell me if the option for creating a redirect for an unpublished node (is in Umbraco 8) is an uintentionally feature?
