Hi there.
Working on a development site, and I followed the instructions here: https://docs.umbraco.com/umbraco-cms/fundamentals/setup/server-setup/iis
The site will run for a few minutes or so, and then as I'm working in the back office, the home page will stop working.
This page isn’t working and is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500
Other site pages work, and the back office continues to work, but the homepage, where the meat of my current development is taking place, doesn't.
Any ideas?
Also - when I run it locally, there are no issues with pages bombing out. Only in this IIS-hosted scenario.
Is there anything in the Umbraco log ?
Trying to pull it now but Umbraco is trying to force an update to the latest version. Any tips on how to stop that?
Hi Cedeste,
It could be that some code in your homepage template is causing this, seeing that other pages and the backoffice keep working.
My suggestion is to commented out all the code in the template and then enabling it again bit by bit.
That way you can find the offending code.
Dave
Thank you. I will try this.
But wouldn't the page bomb out on the local run if there was an issue?
