I have some url rewriting settings, etc. which I wanted to add to web.config. I added a default web.config (from Visual Studio's templates) to the content root of the Umbraco 11 project, and added my settings. But, after deploying to my Development environment, the dev site doesn't load at all. I compared to the Live site, and it looks like there already was a web.config in the wwwroot folder and that this file was overwritten by my file.
So, what's the proper way to do this? Am I supposed to manually bring the contents of that web.config file down to my local env and merge with my settings? Any documentation on this issue?
