Umbraco 8 variants: best way to delete content for a given language/variant

Say for example an Umbraco 8 website that has 3 language variants set up - English (default), French and Spanish. If there are existing pages published for Spanish and I want to disregard them completely i.e. delete the Spanish page content delete and “start again”. It seems the only option is to unpublish the Spanish version which will retain the existing content in an unpublished state/content history. But I want to delete all traces of it instead.
