Using Umbraco And Getting Started

We have an Umbraco v8.18.0 site set up in Azure which uses usync. We recently did a production deployment and noticed one of our main doc types will no longer save and usync cannot import the config for it. We also can't do a database cache rebuild. All other doc types are fine. If we copy the affected doc type the new one works fine. The problem does not occur in our local environment (using an azure sql db), only on staging and production. We have tried using the staging db locally and the issue does not occur; we've also tried deploying previous versions of the codebase to staging but the issue still occurs. We've compared the dbs and files but can't see anything that explains what's happening!
