How to Export all DataTypes, Document Types, Media, Content, etc. for a backup and then to restore on another installation for DR?
How to Export all DataTypes, Document Types, Media, Content, etc. for a backup and then to restore on another installation for DR?
I wish to use the same thing from dev machine to staging/production server.
Can USync help?
Yes, uSync + uSync Content edition will do a full export of settings and content and media, to serialised files on disk and then if installed on the target site, you can copy across the uSync folder and do a full import into a different environment. (and you'd need to copy the Media manually too, to it's new location - uSync just brings across the database entries for the Media if that makes sense)
or
You can install the trial version of uSync Complete which includes uSyncPublisher and you can configure this on both sites, so you can push settings, content and Media from development into the staging/production environment. It is a paid for product though and is generally worthwhile paying for if you have separate Staging / Production environments.
