    Umbraco 8 creating infinite redirects after security patch

    Hi

    I have a umbraco 8 solution at version 8.15.1.

    I recently updated it to 8.18.11 in light of a recent security patch.

    In umbraco backoffice, there were some items that had redirects to themselves in "Redirect Url management"

    I assume this has happened as some point where the content has been moved or renamed.

    But, as soon as I upgraded to 8.18.11, these redirects would result in circular redirects (status code 301 and 308) that would spin out of control, and the page would no longer be able to be served.

    Does anyone knows why this happens when I update umbraco?

    Hi,

    Can you check what redirects did you add?

    Maybe some redirect is in the code and another one in redirect manager?

    hmm :)

    The redirects in umbraco "redirect url management" are added by umbraco itself right?

    It does however seem like the act of doing the redirecting is manually coded in the solution
